Letter: Thanks for saving UAA hockey

This letter is to celebrate our success in saving Seawolf hockey at the University of Alaska Anchorage!

Our hockey community stretched across the country with donors coming from Anchorage, around Alaska and many states around the county. So many hockey fans were a part of a historic campaign to raise more than $3 million in a year’s time. You should take a tremendous amount in pride in being part of this historic endeavor.

The future Seawolf hockey players and the entire hockey community thanks you.

Now, the work to rebuild a program begins. We hope the community will continue to support and follow our efforts as we move forward to a create a sustainable program.

Plans are underway to provide an exciting season in 2022-23, under our new head coach. You will see an enthusiastic, revitalized team and be able to participate in an exciting game-time experience we are creating for fans. We have already developed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Alaska Anchorage leadership on some key elements, such as an operational business plan, ticket sales, marketing efforts, securing a short-term and long-term campus venue, and membership in an NCAA Division I hockey conference to ensure future success for Seawolf hockey.

We look forward to you joining us as we make these plans a reality and breathe new life into the program. We’ll need a huge support system to handle the events we have planned.
