An energy conference with a focus on making Alaska energy independent, is set for May 24-26, has been scheduled for the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage by Gov. Mike Dunleavy.
Each day of the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference will aim to address specific themes, including innovations in distributed energy, the evolution of the modern power grid, and future of energy.
“From the fast tides of Cook Inlet, to the vast, untapped deposits of critical minerals needed to power the coming energy revolution, to the renewable microgrids that dot the far north, the Last Frontier is the ideal location to unveil the future of sustainable energy,” Dunleavy said.
The speakers list includes former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter, who has served as director of the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University since 2011.
The Alaska Center for Energy & Power at the University of Alaska Fairbanks meanwhile is continuing to host a pre-event virtual workshop series, Alaska Energy Futures. Registration for these free workshops is at alaskasustainableenergy.com/virtual-workshop.
