MEMPHIS, Tenn. - March 23, 2022 - Ducks Unlimited (DU) recently unveiled the winners of its annual Wetland Conservation Achievement Award at the 87th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference in Spokane, Washington, and applauded Dr. Mark Lindberg for receiving the honor in the research/technical category.

DU presents Wetland Conservation Achievement Awards annually in six categories to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions towards the conservation and restoration of North America's wetlands and waterfowl.

Dr. Lindberg is a Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, a scholar for wildlife ecology, and a steadfast advocate for science-based wildlife management. He has led or collaborated on over 100 peer-reviewed scientific studies that generated more than 4,000 citations and developed and refined methods for designing and analyzing mark-recapture data that he applies to some of the most challenging questions in ecology and management.

"I am extremely thankful and appreciative of this award and what it means," Lindberg said. "Ducks Unlimited is successful because it's able to bring such talented people and their knowledge and resources together for the sake of conservation. I'm proud to be a member of that group and to receive recognition for my work. I hope it inspires others to help the organization's mission."
