FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Both the Nanooks rifle and women’s basketball programs have had to make changes to their schedules due to various health and safety concerns.

After a close win over the University of Mississippi, the Nanooks announced they will not be competing against the University of Nebraska for the 2021-2022 season. Due to COVID related illness, the Cornhuskers are unable to compete the weekend of January 22nd. This match has been cancelled out right with no plans for a makeup. This will however, shift and add to the match against Air Force. Originally, Air Force and UAF were to compute on Friday; while Nebraska would shoot against UAF Saturday, but with the cancellation, UAF and Air Force will have two days worth of matches taking place on Saturday at the Tanana Valley Sportsmen’s Association at 9 a.m. and then at the Patty Center on Sunday at 8 a.m.

The women’s basketball team was scheduled to face Simon Fraser (SFU) in Fairbanks on Thursday, the 20th. This game has been postponed in practice with health and safety protocols. SFU will also be unable to attend the UAA game set for the 22nd. No make up dates have been announced yet.
