EDI, Racism and Society in Today’s Context
During Black History Month, we’re honoured to once again welcome César Ndéma-Moussa, who’ll lead a workshop on equity, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) and racism in contemporary society. César Ndéma-Moussa will tackle the topic in depth, before opening a discussion with members of the audience. He’ll address various aspects of this crucial topic for 30 minutes, and then will take questions for an hour, to further explore the issues that matter to you. We encourage you to participate to get the most out of this opportunity for learning and dialogue.
César Ndéma-Moussa
Regional Director for Child Welfare Sector in Eastern Ontario
César Ndéma-Moussa is president of North South Development Roots and Culture Canada and the Eastern Ontario regional director of equity, diversity and inclusivity for Child Welfare. A longstanding advocate for social justice and a pan-Africanist, César has worked at the Economic and Social Council of Ottawa-Carleton and served on many committees, including the City of Ottawa’s Community Equity Council, which seeks to improve relations between police and the community. César is a member of the boards of Youth Ottawa and the Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region. He has over 10 years’ experience in delivering talks and training, facilitating workshops and forums on EDI, and appearing in the media to address this topic locally and globally. He recently represented Canada at the United Nations as part of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. He has also represented the maple leaf internationally in the field of martial arts.
