Exploring Home: Book 12 of the Survivalist Series Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 1,032 ratings

Tension is rising for Morgan. With Fred ready to give birth and the revelation that Mary is also pregnant, spirits are high in the community. For Morgan, however, it’s just one more thing to worry about. His mom and dad are now settled in and getting to work, but the babies are coming, the milking barn needs to be built and the power plant kept running. To make matters worse, they’re now dealing with the US Army.

Morgan has real concerns once he hears about the Army’s plans and what they expect of the people of Lake County. After more than a year without the rule of law, are the people ready to return to it? Is he? Are men and women who have become accustomed to doing as they see fit ready to return to a civil contract society? Or something more closely resembling the decadence that only recently died?

Morgan and his group have an immense arsenal at their disposal, but they lack manpower. A militia is needed and Morgan is already building one. Neither Sarge nor Morgan will let the Army throw its weight around. If the Army has tyrannical plans, the people of Lake County have the means to disagree. But they will need help. Sarge has an ambitious plan but will need Morgan to make it work.

Wow. Long and drawn out, but great characters
Damn, I was so looking forward to this book I read it cover to cover as I have all 20 some odd books and honestly I’m kinda let down. no real action and the end of the book leaves a teaser for book number 13. so I will continue to purchase the books in hopes that 13 is a real page turner. I really love the characters though and as a Floridian, I think we’re well represented. I think the writing is great and represents the actions quite well. Love the way he weaves his personal experience into the characters and situations. Keep up the great Podcast!!!

If you've read the others in the series you'll love this one and if you haven't read the series, start with the first book and read them in order. Make sure to buy them two at a time...you'll thank me later. This is the best series of books in the genre - character development is excellent to the point that you really feel like you know the people, info is very good, and the story just flows book to book. An easy and quick read that I find I just can't put down once I start. C'mon American, we need the next installment...or maybe next two!

I have read every book in this series so far and enjoyed every one. It is about rebuilding personal lives and community after a EMP attack on the USA.
Saddly some of the events described may be hard for some to read. It can be brutal in its depiction of how ruthless some people are with out the confines of society
However there is useful survival skills and knowledge woven in what is a well thought out story.

I felt like I had been cut off from my family. Left hanging by my Mama and not knowing when or how I would find the rest of the story. I hope it doesn’t take to many years for book #13. The teaser of Governor Morgan and Commandant Sarge has set the stage for anxiously awaiting the next story. Oh, I can’t wait to see what Thad and Mary have. A son or a daughter. How are the twins of Fred and Aric doing. So many questions. So glad there will be a number 13!
if you haven’t read this series, and you like great characters, exciting action, and a down home feel of family just jump in and read all 12 of them. They are great.

New jobs for everyone, interesting dichotomy between Malaysia and military

DHS is still a problem

I wonder if this will be like 1984 and we read this for years from now
