DEPARTMENTS and DEGREES AWARDED

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREES

At the Department of Biological Sciences you will have opportunities to explore the coastal waterways and swamps of Louisiana in a pirogue while learning how to use modern scientific equipment to explore the molecular mechanisms of cell biology!

Nicholls State University is an ideal place to learn chemistry with its outstanding faculty and modern facilities. Undergraduate students participate in research with faculty, co-author papers, and present research at conferences.

If you are curious about the connection between nutrition and health or would enjoy assisting people regain their health after an illness, then a career in the broad and dynamic field of dietetics might be for you.

Geomatics is the science of surveying and mapping. Geomatics professionals are land surveyors, construction surveyors, mappers and planners, the core of what is needed to rebuild New Orleans and coastal Louisiana. Students train on the latest state-of-the-art instruments and are instructed by highly qualified faculty.

The mission of the Health Sciences program is to prepare graduates for advanced educational and clinical practice options for healthcare professionals through teaching, research, and service. Health Sciences offers five concentrations: Health Sciences Health & Wellness, Health Sciences Pre-Professional, Health Sciences Pre-Athletic Training, Health Sciences Communicative Disorders, and Health Sciences Nutrition and Food Services

For 40 years, Nicholls State University has been educating upstream oil and gas professionals in the unique Petroleum Services and Safety Technology degree programs.  We pride ourselves in providing higher education opportunities to non-traditional working students in the oil and gas industry for the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) operations.
