Labor Force Participation Rate (def.) [LFPR] {not to be confused with the pop group LMFAO 🤪 } is an economic indicator that describes how much of the population is active in the economy, either working or searching for work. https://lnkd.in/ebck7FCg The rate is calculated as: LFPR = (Employed Population + Unemployed Population) / (Total Civilian Non-Institutionalized Population). The population denominator is not usually the entire resident population, because the goal is to compare the total number of people active in the labor force to the number of people we would reasonably expect to be in the base labor pool. As such, denom. is traditionally defined as 'civilian non-institutionalized population aged 16+' #WordoftheWeek #LaborMarketDefinitions

Growth in AI jobs is happening all over the world…and all over the country. The highest number of AI postings are in California and Texas, but the highest shares are in Washington, D.C., and the surrounding states. Cole Napper, co-host of the Directionally Correct podcast 🎙️, discusses how #workforceplanning must be embedded into a business' operations for it to succeed -- "it should inform recruiting, sourcing, promotions.." and more. He notes that he's been collaborating with us since we were Emsi and Burning Glass Technologies, before the merger than birthed Lightcast; and that a strategic advantage to doing so is that we span Enterprise, Government, and Education spaces to bring learnings across all sectors that we use to foster data-driven decision making. #peopleanalytics #futurereadyworkforce

Lightcast is thrilled to be working with the World Employment Confederation (WEC) - the voice of the private employment services industry across the globe. We've recently partnered with them to develop The Online Labour Market GPS - a powerful, AI-based tool that allows both WEC and its members to analyse the online staffing market at global and national levels. https://lnkd.in/eAYUvRvv We are proud to have Marco Tucci and Mauro Pelucchi presenting at WEC's annual conference in Lisbon, talk about this new innovation, and what it means for WEC members. Special thanks to Viktorija Proskurovska and Marius Osterfeld for having us!

Several of our Lightcasters were in Lansing, Michigan yesterday as we put on our first EdGov regional summit of the year. Salute to Christopher Laney, EdD, MBA, CWDP who hosted the event, keying on some major statewide initiatives. Friends and clients like Ryan Hundt of Michigan Works Association! presented, and we were pleased to other industry experts in the house like Susan Corbin, Wendy Block, Jamie Jacobs, and Maureen Donohue Krauss, FM. The Summit opened with a rousing speech from President of Lansing Community College, Dr. Steve Robinson. We were honored that so many people came and shared their vision of a #futurereadyworkforce and we aim to help foster collaboration amongst them to make that future vision a reality. Special thanks to our Lightcast team who helped make this event so successful: Nancy Finazzo, PhD Shelby Wassermann Courtney Moreno Brian W.
