OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss fans will see the return of a fan favorite from past years here Saturday night when "Miss Mary," the Ole Miss Army ROTC Rebel Battalion Cannon, returns to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field.

"The firing of the cannon will be in accordance of the Southeastern Conference game management and crowd control policy," said Ole Miss athletic director Pete Boone.

The section of the SEC policy manual which references artificial noisemakers states, "the use of institutionally-controlled computerized sound systems (including music), institutionally controlled artificial noisemakers shall be restricted to pregame, halftime, postgame, after a score and team or media timeouts."

Ole Miss opens its 2003 home schedule against Louisiana-Monroe with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. Other home games this season will be with Texas Tech, Arkansas State, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, and LSU.
