POETICA • FINE ART MUSIC

Once upon a time a musician who also penned poems took shelter in an attic,
Armed against incessant chaos with naught but a laptop, microphone, interface,
Headphones and an ironing board, upon which rested mail-order speakers flanking
Scattered small percussion. As weeks turned into months, a djembe, 2 harmonicas,
3 guitars and a bullet mic rallied around this pathway-centric polymath while through

Technological wizardry, files were shared across vast distances. Gracious musicians
Gathered in virtual realms, transforming reverential musings into future-past's dreamscape
Cellists, fiddlers, bassists and trumpet players; guitarists, drummers and mandolinists
A clarinetist, harmoniums, handclaps – prayers comprised of impatient heartbeats
Today something exists evolved as though out of thin air tomorrow it will be something else

The common thread of course is discourse 'cause language it will be that will carry us through
Silences of faded hues pale as we are with anticipation's breath held in for brothers sisters
Mothers and Dads what can be done can best be also spoken, sung, stoically hummed
Amen to the hope-darers, light-bearers, wayfarers, scarred just enough to soul-succumb
