100 Organizations in Support of the Pretrial Fairness Act!
Today, Illinois State Senator Robert Peters and Representative Justin Slaughter filed the Pretrial Fairness Act, a bill that will end money bond and dramatically decrease the number of people incarcerated pretrial in jails across the state. This legislation has been endorsed by over 100 organizations from across the state of Illinois, representing thousands of people from Carbondale to East St. Louis to Rockford to Waukegan and everywhere in between! We believe that the time to end money bond is now, and we are excited to be working together to help pass this historic legislation.
