About the Scholarship
The Phoenix Capital Group Scholarship empowers students pursuing a career in the oil and gas industry. The Scholarship program awards a $15,000 scholarship to a student with high academic credentials and who is enrolled in a degree program (such as petroleum engineering) consistent with a career in oil and gas. To apply for this $15,000 scholarship, eligible students must submit an essay of 2000 words or less and meet the eligibility requirements. See additional details below.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be high school senior that has already been accepted into an accredited college or university or current student enrolled at an accredited college or university full-time.
- Students must be pursuing a degree (such as petroleum engineering) consistent with a career in the oil and gas industry.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
Guidelines
We hope to benefit a student who has demonstrated strong academic achievement from high school forward and who has a good chance of success in college.
For that reason, in the form below, please submit (1) your high school GPA and (2) your GPA for any college courses you have taken to date.
We also ask you to provide a short description in 2000 words or less of your career goals (details below). This essay must be submitted prior to the application deadline.

Winner Selection
The Phoenix Capital Group Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student via the following process:
One candidate with the best submission will be selected in June of 2023.
- The winner will be notified by email and will have two (2) weeks to accept the award. Failure to accept the award within two (2) weeks shall disqualify that candidate, and a new winner will be selected in their place.
- If the winner accepts the scholarship, The Phoenix Capital Group Scholarship committee reserves the right to request additional information from you, including but not limited to documentation in support of the information you provide.
