Brazil is a global Open Banking and Open Finance leader that has built a world-class ecosystem at breathtaking speed.
There are now more than 5.6 million Open Finance customers in Brazil, over 800 institutions participating in the ecosystem and an average of 286 million API calls every week.
The first phase of Brazil’s Open Banking transformation began in February 2021. Just over one year later, South America’s most populous nation officially announced the launch of Open Finance.
In August 2021, Brazil reached a milestone in its journey when it introduced payment initiation. To celebrate the anniversary of this game-changing moment in Open Banking history and find out what we can learn from Brazil’s success, OBE will host experts from its thriving ecosystem around a special September Campfire.
As well as flying the flag for Brazil, we will also hear about a pioneering use case from the UK during a fireside conversation: an innovative Open Banking-powered “Pay By Bank Account” service launched by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The eyes of the world are on Brazil. Gather around our Campfire to find out why…
